Xu Bing is a Chinese-born artist, resident in the United States since 1990. He currently resides in Beijing, where he serves as the vice-president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Shelagh Vainker is the Curator for Chinese Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
