This work provides a review of body art. It looks at the phenomenon of customizing the body from an anthropological perspective. The photographs include pictures on body painting, tattooing, piercing, corsets, scarring, hair, jewellery, masks and shoes.

Acerca de los autores
Housk Randall is an award-winning photographer. He won the 1994 Erotic Oscar for best erotic photographer in the US and UK. His other works include The Customized Body and Rituals of Love (Picador). He has a post-graduate diploma in psycho-sexual theory and therapy and has spent two years as a sex counsellor at a leading London hospital. He lives in London.
Ted Polhemus is a journalist and photographer. He is a widely-used consultant on youth marketing and style trends and is the author of Bodystyles, Streetstyle, Fashion & Anti-Fashion and Popstyles.
