New fire safety rules affecting all non-domestic premises in England and Wales will come into force on 1 October 2006, in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (S.I. 2005/1541, ISBN 0110729455). This is one of a series of 11 publications which sets out recommendations and guidance for employers, managers, occupiers and owners of particular types of premises on how to carry out a fire risk assessment and how to identify general fire precautions required (including fire detection and warning systems, firefighting equipment, escape routes, signs and training). This guide covers premises where the main use of the building or part of the building is a theatre, cinema, concert hall or combination of these.
