From an early age, Steve is passionate about stealing and breaking into houses. He soon becomes another off-the-rails addict, but his drug is crime. Many of Steve s earliest childhood memories involve stealing from his parents, from the local sweet shop and, by the age of nine, from houses up and down the street where he lived. As he spiralled ever downwards in a cycle of crime and punishment, a broken-hearted child grew into a broken man whose goal was to become unbreakable. Hate and anger sustained and strengthened him through the darkest times. After twenty-four years behind bars with his third marriage about to fall apart, his closest friend a heroin addict becomes a Christian. Facing his longest sentence yet, Steve is challenged by the change in his friend s life and finds himself wandering into a church. As God begins to break down the walls of addiction, fear and hatred in Steve s heart, miracles begin to happen and the boy who never had a father begins to grasp the truth that God is love and God is real. Steve s story is heartbreaking and disturbing; it is a challenge to all of us to come face to face with the reality of crime addiction and the power of God to break the unbreakable and heal the broken-hearted.
