Sinopsis
This text provides an introduction to the Intel's 8086 family of chips. Covering both assembly language programming and the architecture of this leading microprocessor, it explains the fundamentals of the subject. Topics covered include: low-level workings of processors; the latest Intel chips, including the pentium chip; and end of chapter exercises. It is designed for introductory courses in computer architecture and assembly language programming, and presents this material in the context of the world of computing. The two major processor chips, Intel 8086 and Motorola 68000 processors are covered in detail, whilst the general principles of computer architecture and assembly language programming are explained. Exercises and examples are included throughout.
