"Top Treks of the World" is a beautifully illustrated, inspirational guide to the best long walks in the world. It uses wonderful mountain and wilderness photography to cover 29 of the best treks in the world, each piece written by an expert on the route. A trek is a walk that takes people away from civilization into a place they could not reach if not on foot, and which requires them to rely on other skills than the mere perambulatory. With this book, a reader can walk the routes in spirit, and there's enough practical information to allow the planning of a trip when a place takes a hold on the imagination. It features Asia (Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Tibet and Turkey), Australasia, North and South America (from the Appalachian Trail to Patagonia), Europe (from the Alps to Corsica), and Africa (from Morocco to Namibia).
Biografía del autor
General Editor and main contributor Steve Razzetti has been travelling in Nepal - exploring and leading commercial expeditions - for most of the past 20 years, as well as trekking in other parts of the world. He is a member of the Alpine Club, and has recently written Trekking and Climbing in Nepal for New Holland.
