The first in the Problems in Anesthesia series, Cardiothoracic Surgery examine and provide guidance for a number of problematic clinical scenarios in cardiothoracic surgery anesthesia. Cases covered range from the common (e.g. off-pump coronary bypass) to the rare (e.g. anesthetic management of the patient with carcinoid heart disease).
