During the summer of 2020, in a brief respite between lockdowns at home, we rode down to Florence. This is the story of our trip, fleshed out with all the stuff we ought to have known before we went. A first-person perspective by a man who doesn't feel he fits the mould of motorcycle travel books, being neither unhappy or deserted, not on the run or consumed by a need to make life as difficult for himself as possible. No great truths are uncovered, no life-threatening situations bravely escaped from and the police never get involved. Instead, it's about a fantastic holiday and a window on the world that he's read about but not seen. This is about how travelling there by motorcycle is different to flying in and flying out, to show that the bits in between are far more interesting. Although Florence was stunning as well.I would want you to enjoy it, but it won't change your life. More importantly, we had a great time and hope this comes across in the telling. Perhaps you will see that adventure takes many forms and find one of your own. Containing over 50 photographs of the trip, this is the monochrome version of the full colour book with the added bonus that you can colour in the pictures if you like
