The use of optimization algorithms has seen an emergence in various professional fields due to its ability to process data and information in an efficient and productive manner. Combining computational intelligence with these algorithms has created a trending subject of research on how much more beneficial intelligent-inspired algorithms can be within companies and organizations. As modern theories and applications are continually being developed in this area, professionals are in need of current research on how intelligent algorithms are advancing in the real world. The Handbook of Research on Advancements of Swarm Intelligence Algorithms for Solving Real-World Problems is a pivotal reference source that provides vital research on the development of swarm intelligence algorithms and their implementation into current issues. While highlighting topics such as multi-agent systems, bio-inspired computing, and evolutionary programming, this publication explores various concepts and theories of swarm intelligence and outlines future directions of development. This book is ideally designed for IT specialists, researchers, academicians, engineers, developers, practitioners, and students seeking current research on the real-world applications of intelligent algorithms.

He is currently a lecturer with School of Computer Science, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an, China. His current research interests include swarm intelligence, multiobjective optimization, and data mining techniques and their applications.
Yuhui Shi received the PhD degree in electronic engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 1992. He is a chair professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China. Before joining Southern University of Science and Technology, he was with Electronic Data Systems Corporation, Indianapolis, IN. His main research interests include the areas of computational intelligence techniques (including swarm intelligence) and their applications. Dr. Shi is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Swarm Intelligence Research. (Kuruge Abeyrathna - Contributing Author) Darshana is a PhD research fellow at the University of Agder. He completed his BSc in Mechatronics Engineering at AIT university, Thailand in 2015. Then he directly joined to the Big Data research group at Thammasat University, Thailand for his MSc studies and graduated in 2017. His research interests are in Artificial Neural Networks, Data Mining, Optimization, and Operations Research. Currently, at CAIR, he is working on a project which develops a global grid that facilitates real-time compilation, management, and analysis of spatio-temporal data.
