Most data logging/acquisition books are difficult to read, use jargon and waffle on subjects that are not useful to the reader. This book aims to give the reader knowledge around the methods of analysing data from a Motorsport vehicle within data logging software, thus aiding in a real-world situation. Giving the reader information behind the sensors used, what parameters can be measured, what graphs to expect and what can be done with the graphs, in terms of analysing. One of the main aims of this book is to use computers as an aid for solving problems. This can be applied within a technical or management situations, suiting any background and need of the reader. The second edition of the book will expand upon what the first edition has already explained; adding what can be sensed around a road or race vehicle within parameters considering the engine, transmission, aerodynamics, suspension, chassis, brakes and driver input. As the cost of data logging systems can be expensive, a basic set up is provided to show the necessary parameters to be logged and looked back upon in order to improve car drivability or lap times. Data traces and issues are also provided within the second edition of this book, including drawn examples and explanations upon different data trace scenarios and how to resolve such issues. Containing useful references for more background reading if desired, this book is your one stop shop to covering the software and practices used when analysing data from a Motorsport vehicle!
