Acerca del autor
Among the poets whose work is included in this box set, the earliest to have lived is John Donne (1572-1631), one of the great Metaphysical poets of his age. For the most part, the remaining writers were all active during the 19th century. Shelley, Keats and Wordsworth showcase the Romantic poets with the like of 'Ode to a Nightingale' and 'To a skylark'. While Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman embody the spirit of America with acute observations of the world around them, both in terms of nature and the urban landscape. Wit and humour are provided in abundance by the renowned playwright Oscar Wilde and Edward Lear, whose charming and fantastical imagination run wild in his nonsense verse.
