Currently, solving problems based on designing and calculating complex structures with significant nonlinearity usually require:
Semi-inverse Method in Nonlinear Problems of Axisymmetric Shells Forming provides an alternative method for solving problems with deep geometric and physical nonlinearity. Easily implemented on normal PCs, this method is fast and creative. The reader can use integrated packages of the MathCad variety that implement "live mathematics". Such packages give the reader the freedom to create programs for themselves.
In the proposed method, a function for molding pressure is constructed, which is output to a stationary value by varying the shape parameters and edge reactions. The final shape of the shell is given using analytical approximations. Applications of the method are applied to real shell structures. Forming spherical and ellipsoidal shells (flapping membranes), correcting the shape of the bottom of a container for liquid cargo, modeling the operation of a flat jack, and converting a cylindrical shell into a barrel-shape are also considered.

Anatoly S Yudin is a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences and chief researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science of the Southern Federal University. He has acted as adviser to the Rostov branch of the Russian Academy of Engineering and was awarded the badge ""Honorary worker of higher professional education of the Russian Federation"". His research areas cover shell theory, mathematical modeling, linear and nonlinear problems, stability, natural and forced vibrations of reinforced shells, vibrations and acoustics of complex shell structures. Yudin has published more than 150 scientific papers (18 in English) and 6 copyright certificates and patents. Previously published monographs (in Russian) include Stability and vibrations of structurally anisotropic and artificial shells of rotation (Rostov-on-Don: SFU Publishing House, 2011), Vibroacoustics of structurally inhomogeneous shells: monograph (Rostov-on-Don: SFU Press, 2013) (with V G Safronenko) and Statics and vibrations of shells of rotation with a liquid (Rostov-on-Don: SFU Press, 2014).
Dmitry V Shchitov is Candidate of Technical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of Urban Construction and Real Estate Expertise, since 2007 he has been Head of the Department of Construction of the North Caucasus Federal University. His areas of research include investigation of the reliability of buildings and structures, determination of the seismic resource of engineering objects, mathematical modeling, theory of shells, linear and nonlinear problems, stability of buildings and structures, and natural and forced vibrations of supporting structures. He has published more than 54 scientific works (14 in English) and one monograph (in Russian). He founded the Department of Construction at the Pyatigorsk Institute of the North Caucasus Federal University, where 6 laboratories were equipped and launched.
