Learn image processing with ImageJ with this guide for engineers, developers and scientists to put ImageJ plugins and macros to work to master visual data
The book has been created for engineers, scientists, and developers eager to tackle image processing with one of the leading tools in the field for image processing and analysis. No prior knowledge of ImageJ is needed. Familiarity with Java programming will be needed for readers to code their own routines using ImageJ.
As advances in image processing have been vital for the scientific and technological communities. But as images become larger and more complex, more advanced processing techniques are required. Automation becomes necessary too, so you can perform the simply tasks easily so you can focus on more sophisticated issues.. ImageJ is on hand to help as one of the key tools in the development of image processing it's a powerful tool that lets you extract even more useful data from your images.
This image processing book will demonstrate how to put ImageJ into practice. It outlines and explains its key features, and demonstrates how you can create your own image processing applications using macros and imageJ plugins. Once you've got a good foundation with the basics of ImageJ, you'll then learn how to put your knowledge into practice as you discover how to build a number of different image processing solutions. From simple tasks to advanced and automated image processing, you'll gain a deeper knowledge and confidence with this innovative and powerful tool Every step in the learning journey is presented clearly and with examples so you can create a complete framework for ImageJ plugins.

Jurjen Broeke has a PhD in neuroscience at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam and has been using live cell imaging techniques to study the fundamental processes of neuronal function. As a neuroscientist, he studies the processes involved in neural communication. Besides acquiring images, he also develops software for analyzing dynamics in ImageJ, Matlab, and R. When not enjoying the great outdoors and taking pictures, he develops technical hard- and software solutions in the department of Functional Genomics at the VU.
