Michael Schmidt OBE FRSL is Writer in Residence at St John's College, Cambridge. He is a founder and the Editorial and Managing Director of Carcanet Press and founder and general Editor of PN Review. He has published several collections of poems, two novels, a number of anthologies and volumes of literary history, and two books of translations.Luke Allan studied Literature & Creative Writing at UEA. Before joining Carcanet as Managing Editor in 2015 he worked as a project manager in the Arts in Newcastle and Edinburgh, and managed Studio Alec Finlay and the poetry press Morning Star. He is founding-director of the poetry press sine wave peak and co-founder of the poetry magazine Butcher's Dog; he also edits the journal Quait and is former editor of the Newcastle Philosophy Society journal. In 2011 his poetry received a Northern Promise Award. His first collection, minimum soft exchange, will be published by MIEL in 2015.
