Today's parish faces a challenge. churchgoers and priests are growing older and fewer, and the church itself has lost much of its credibility. It needs a new vision, one which will imbue the parish with a revitalised energy and hope. This book responds to that need. Tomorrow's Parish is for anyone who has an interest in the future of the church. It will be of particular importance to those involved in parish ministry and parish pastoral councils. offering a fundamental resource for their formation and organisation in a new context. Acting as both an inspiration and a challenge to the faith community, this book highlights the priorities for the parish as the church enters a new chapter. Incorporating elements from The Welcoming Parish, this book illustrates a new way of seeing the parish. Over four sections, Tomorrow s Parish delves into what is meant by an 'evangelising parish', and invites the faith community to listen, reflect and forge the path towards the brighter parish of tomorrow. 'This will be a great handbook for parishes, to fully read, to dip into now and again, and a means to deeper reflection for all who live in and minister within the parish. I can see it being almost a textbook for Parish Pastoral Councils.'Fr. Tony Coote, Administrator, Mount Merrion and Kilmacud Parishes, Dublin.
