Hardcover. Condición: As New. Estado de la sobrecubierta: As New. Di Morris Ilustrador. 1st Edition. A truely fine copy which is signed by the author. Set in colonial New Zealand, this beautifully illustrated graphic novel follows the lives of sisters Margaret and Elsie Balfour as they come of age on a South Canterbury farm in the late nineteenth century. As family tragedy and changing fortunes reshape their futures, the sisters' contrasting paths reveal the opportunities and limitations faced by women of their time. Drawing on family history and archival material, Di Morris combines evocative artwork with historical photographs and documents to create a moving and meticulously researched portrait of family, resilience and women's lives in colonial New Zealand.
