Jackie Hartnell was born in Buckinghamshire, UK, and emigrated to Australia when she was 22. She was naturalised about 25 years ago and is very proud to be an Australian. Jackie's career, spanning forty years, journeyed from an electrical engineering apprenticeship, where there were nine girls to 300 boys, to thirty years in the computer industry, via primary teaching and assorted other attempts to find job satisfaction. She has now found it in retirement in her writing, which like Australia, feels it is where she should have been all her life. Jackie has been married twice -divorced once, widowed once -and has now has found her feet as an adventuring, journal-keeping woman.
