Sinopsis

A historical novel set in Perth, Scotland in the latter part of the nineteenth century. An age of expansion and new inventions, where anything seemed to be possible. Even time travel. Alfie Peters, the city clockmaker, knows this is a fanciful thought, but pretends he has mastered the art to get the better of the young American designing the casing for a very special clock.
Alfie's domestic life is complicated and this, combined with the stress of making the new clock, leads to terrifying consequences.
