Sinopsis

She's traded in her FBI Special Agent's badge for a DIY renovator's hammer and saw. But when her best friend is arrested for murder, can retired agent Genevieve Jensen demolish the false accusations, expose the real killer, and restore her best friend's reputation?

Genevieve Jensen wasn't ready to retire, but on her 57th birthday, she aged out of her beloved job as FBI Special Agent. With decades ahead of her and no work occupy her hours, she turns to a long-postponed home renovation to fight off her loneliness and boredom.

But Gen's best friend Sandra has another project for her: salvaging Sandra's reputation. Sandra's been accused of murdering her husband Jack, and begs Gen's help in clearing her name. Gen made her career solving economic crimes, not murders, but in the small coastal North Carolina town of Spartina Beach, the new local police chief is in over his head, and Sandra needs all the help she can get. Gen hurries to Sandra's aid and entangles herself in local life. But in this close-knit community and without her usual resources, can Gen build trust among strangers, reconstruct the crime, and secure justice for her friend and the community?
