Sinopsis

Life is not easy when you look one way on the outside and feel another way on the inside. But that’s just the sort of life Porkington Hamm has, after getting a dose of Doctor Morty’s experimental stem cell serum.

Thinking, feeling, and (mostly) looking human, Porkington makes friends, develops his culinary talents, and explores the city. He loves the library, the farmers market, and the local cafe. And he's at his best when he forgets about himself and concentrates on helping others.

But people don’t always treat him nicely. Some are afraid of him and others are mean. A mysterious woman is stalking Porkington, and when his best friend Tom leaves town she makes her move. Is it the same person who caused trouble for Doctor Morty at the university? Will she succeed in turning Porkington back into an ordinary pig?

This middle-grade children's book is fun reading for young fans (ages 8 - 12) of fantasy and adventure, humorous chapter books, books about animals, and friendship. The Porkington's World series includes six children's chapter books featuring piglets-turned-human Porkington, Swinson, and Bonny as they navigate growing up, friendships, school and work, travel, and adventures.

Life is not easy when you look one way on the outside and feel another way on the inside. But that’s just the sort of life Porkington Hamm has, after getting a dose of Doctor Morty’s experimental stem cell serum.Thinking, feeling, and (mostly) looking human, he deals with discrimination, dysphoria, and social anxiety, and must come to terms with his origin. With help from his best friend Tom, Porkington explores the city, makes friends, and develops his culinary talents. He often can be found at the library, the outdoor market, or his favorite cafe. He's at his best when he forgets about himself and concentrates on helping others. But as in every town, there are people in the city he can trust, and others he can’t. Someone mysterious is stalking Porkington, and when Tom leaves town she makes her move. Is it the same person who got Doctor Morty fired from the university? Will her “conversion therapy” turn Porkington back into an ordinary pig?Fun reading for fans of magical realism and children's fantasy and science fiction.
