Sinopsis

Women have a one-in-four chance of being attacked or raped. To survive, you need to feel in control, able to act in various situations, defend against attacks from behind you or when they throw you to the ground and jump on you, how to act so you don’t look like a victim, to say no correctly so you are head, and handle yourself in followed in a car, walking, in a store, or at home.

Three-quarters of rape and attack prevention are defusing a situation before it arises. You should know how to mentally and physically react to some aggressive idiot who will not stop when you say "stop." You can’t have mixed messages.

There are those attackers who hide in bushes and jump out and grab you before you are even aware they are there. To them, there is no discussion, and your first move is to destroy their attack and escape. Conversely, you also have to be aware of the date rape drugs (like GHB and roofies) and know how to protect your glass at parties.

If you learn to be vigilant and use common sense, much of the time, you can prevent a situation from escalating. Only as a last resort should you ever have to use ju-jitsu or karate self-defense. But, in those situations, you do have to know how to protect yourself and how to escape from your attacker. You actually have the advantage. Your attacker does not know that you know self-defense. Most importantly, you do not have to "win" the fight. All you need to do is be able to temporarily distract or disable him enough to allow you to run to safety.

With the knowledge in this book, you should be able to walk, act, and protect yourself from most dangers, and if you are attacked, you should knowhow to escape, usually without injury. You need the knowledge to carry yourself confidentially and present a calm demeanor that suggests you are not afraid.

Women need a positive self-image, a feeling of control, and hope for the future, so this book presents the information in an easy-to-read but affirmative format. There are 155 pictures to make the portion teaching ju-jitsu techniques easy to follow. The book contains four illustrations and one ten-page form. The index is especially detailed.
