Dr. Rıza Nur (August 30, 1879 in Sinop September 8, 1942 in Istanbul), who devoted his own house to the library, was a Turkish surgeon, politician and writer. He was prominent in the years immediately after the First World War and served as a cabinet minister but was subsequently marginalised and became a critic of the new regime. The library building was built in 1902. Located on the eastern edge of the city by the sea and next to the city park, this building is 864,88 m2 It is a 3-storey, 2nd class historical monument on an area of 350 meters square on square plot. During the rest of the treasure immigrants exchange between Turkey and Greece, the home of two Greek brothers who had erected the building in 1902, Dr Riza Nur bought, then, by the library is arranged.
