This book is a personal account of three educators living and teaching in Saudi Arabia. It sets out to briefly discuss and explore issues that tend to go under the radar in a bustling, busy classroom. The different issues explored include social and economic barriers; special educational needs; and being wealthy and acquainted.Lessons from my Learners aims to heighten awareness and open up dialogue in a meaningful but approachable manner. It is designed as a supporting resource for educators in Saudi Arabia, new and old, to refer to at times of exasperation, when in need of moral support or even as an insight for challenges educators may face daily. Each personal account draws upon the authors’ experiences combined with their background knowledge and theory, culminating in tips for other educators out there.Written in a casual format with a minimum use of technical terms, Lessons from my Learners is designed to ease a busy educator’s workload rather than burden it.
