Parker finds out that his aunt can’t use the jar of peanut butter that he eats from. His aunt has celiac disease, and the jar of peanut butter has been cross-contaminated with gluten. Parker has an idea so that everyone can have peanut butter. This book is written by someone living with celiac disease to help others have conversations with the kids in their lives about celiac or other conditions like food allergies where people must be careful about what and how they eat.

Dana Lewis is someone who lives with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease, and has nieces and nephews who she adores. As they’ve gotten older, they progressively want to know more about the diabetes devices she wears, and why she doesn’t always eat the same food as everyone else. Dana wears an insulin pump, continuous glucose monitor, and an "artificial pancreas" that she built. (An artificial pancreas is technology to automate decision making and adjust insulin delivery.) Dana is active in the #WeAreNotWaiting and #OpenAPS movements to make this kind of technology more widely available to anyone who wants it. Dana wrote this book for her niece and nephews, and also hopes it will help others start conversations, with the kids in their lives, about celiac disease or other conditions like food allergies where people must be careful about what and how they eat.
