The Wave of Life details the experiences and moods of a military officer during an armed conflict as well as why someone might seek to leave their country. Through the descriptions of tragic times of people on American soil, commonality is found between American and Nepali society and culture, leading one to seriously question one's own identity. In an effort to show the existence of Nepali society on American soil, this novel speaks to the past, the present and instills hope for the future.

About the Author

Deepak Pyakurel is originally from Nepal in South Asia, but has been living in New York for the last five years. He has already published a novel in his native language, Nepali. The Wave of Life is his debut novel in English.
