Sinopsis

After fostering and homeschooling one of her dancers through the pandemic, Ms. Reneé is pulled into a custody battle that threatens to ruin her teaching career and her life. Over several months’ time the child reveals to Ms. Reneé the details of her abuse at the hands of her father. Her abuser then suddenly appears out of the blue with new custody papers to take his daughter back. When she tries to defend the child and expose the father, Ms. Reneé is framed and blamed for the child’s abuse. This emotional and disturbing memoir chronicles the court corruption that almost lands Ms. Reneé in jail, as well as the internal struggle she goes through as she fights her way back from the brink of suicide.
