Keep your ophthalmic knowledge current with the Academy's 2015-2016 Basic and Clinical Science Course (BCSC). BCSC is the most extensive compilation of ophthalmic scientific research and clinical experience, and it is continually updated by a faculty of more than 80 expert ophthalmologists. Section 12 has been fully revised for the 2015-2016 edition, and provides an overview of the structure and function of the retina and its relationship to the pigment epithelium, choroid and vitreous. The major vitreoretinal disorders are described as are the appropriate diagnostic methods and treatment principles. Completely revised organization includes 17 chapters presented in three parts. Separate chapters are now devoted to age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity, including the latest imaging techniques and choroidal detail.
