Discusses current applications of optical phenomena, including the optical foundations of lasers, spectacles, IOLs and refractive surgery. It presents optics of the human eye and basic concepts of geometric optics, as well as the use of ophthalmic instruments and the design, fitting and complications of contact lenses. Also discussed is vision rehabilitation from the epidemiology of vision impairment and classification of visual function deficits to patient assessment and low vision management.
