William J. Rothwell, Ph.D., SPHR is Professor of Learning and Performance in the Workforce Education and Development program, Department of Learning and Performance Systems, at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park campus. Maureen C. Jones has been working in the health care field for more than two decades. She has Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Nursing and has worked in some of the most challenging health care environments in the world. Maria T. Kirby, MBA, has in-depth field experience from wide-variety of industries and has led companies in workforce initiatives. Her professional experience includes economic development work with 130+ companies and multiple industry consortium groups. Kirby is currently the Director of the Business Program Portfolio for Penn State s Academic Outreach unit and she is enrolled in PhD coursework in Workforce Education and Development (Human Resource Development/ Organisation Development track) in Penn State s College of Education (candidacy exams January 2012).
Frederick D. Loomis received his Ph.D. in higher education from Penn State University and currently serves as Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of the master s degree program in higher education at Drexel University. He has over 30 years of leadership experience in the higher education and public sectors, holding administrative appointments as dean, special assistant to the provost, executive director, and state-wide program director. With expertise in leadership, strategic planning, diversity, e-learning, competency modelling and workforce development, Loomis has held faculty and administrative appointments at Penn State University and Neumann University. He has consulted with state and local governments, school districts, career and technical centres, and higher education institutions in the United States, Egypt, and Tanzania.
