Distance education has become increasingly pervasive in higher education. Instruction librarians are reaching out to distance learners and integrating information literacy into their institutions' curriculums. Key to the success of this effort has been their collaborations with faculty and other instructional support personnel. The results of this survey are intended to help librarians promote information literacy among distance learners by identifying effective strategies for collaboration with other professionals in the higher education community. The survey covers collaborative teaching strategies, challenges and solutions of collaborative projects, assessment of information literacy outcomes in a collaborative distance education environment, promotion of distance information literacy instruction efforts, librarians' involvement on campus distance education committees, and librarians' partners in distance information literacy instruction.
