Kevin Besnoy, Ph.D., received his doctorate in curriculum, instruction, and special education with an emphasis in gifted education from The University of Southern Mississippi. During the 2003-2004 school year, he served as the project coordinator on a grant entitled "Appropriate Practices for Screening, Identifying, and Instructing Gifted/Disabled Youth." Besnoy is assistant professor of Teacher Education and School Leadership at Northern Kentucky University and serves as the chair of the Computers and Technology division of the National Association for Gifted Children.
Lane W. Clarke is an assistant professor at Northern Kentucky University. The idea for this book came when she and fellow educator Kevin Besnoy began researching digital literacy with Palm Pilots with eighth graders. They decided to use their knowledge and connections to create an edited book aimed at supporting teachers in the content areas in using technology as a tool for enhanced instruction.
