This picture book serves as a tribute to peace, resistance, and hope, and was written and illustrated by Romana Romanyshyn and Andriy Lesiv, a husband-and-wife duo from Ukraine.

Acerca de los autores

Romana Romanyshyn was born in Lviv, Ukraine in 1984. She studied painting at the Lviv Art College of Decorative and Applied Art and art glass at the Lviv National Art Academy. Together, she and her husband Andriy Lesiv form the art studio Agrafka, collaborating on books and other projects. The pair have been members of PEN Ukraine since 2019 and currently live and work in Lviv, Ukraine.

Andriy Lesiv was born in Lviv, Ukraine in 1984. He studied restoration and conservation of art at the Lviv Art College of Decorative and Applied Art and the Lviv National Art Academy. He also holds a PhD in art criticism. Together, he and his wife Romana Romanyshyn form the art studio Agrafka, collaborating on books and other projects. The pair have been members of PEN Ukraine since 2019 and currently live and work in Lviv, Ukraine.

Oksana Lushchevska is a Ukrainian writer and translator. She is the author of 44 children’s and young adult books. Her books were awarded a number of Ukrainian children’s literature awards. Some of them were included into the White Raven Catalog and shortlisted for BBC Children’s Book Award. Oksana has a PhD in Education and taught children’s literature courses at the University of Georgia. Now, she is a children’s literature consultant and the owner of A Joyful Fox’s Reading Club. Oksana lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
