• Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

• Light blue bath puff

• Polyester fiberfill

• Tapestry needle

Pattern Note

Do not join rounds unless otherwise stated. Mark first stitch of each round.


Head

Rnd 1: Starting at muzzle, with Delft blue, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, 4 sc in ring. (4 sc)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off. (8 sc)

Rnd 3: Join pastel blue with sc in first st, sc in same st, [2 sc in each st] around. (16 sc)

Back Leg

Make 1 each Delft blue and pastel blue.

Front Leg

Make 1 each Delft blue and pastel blue.

Tail

Rnd 1: With Delft blue, ch 12, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, sc in each ch around. (12 sc)

Rnds 2–9: Sk next st, sc in each st around, ending with 4 sc in last rnd. At end of last rnd, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off. Stuff lightly.


Finishing

For eyes, with black, embroider 2 French knots(see illustration) ? inch apart above muzzle as shown in photo.

For muzzle shaping, thread blue through tapestry needle. Insert needle through side of Head to center bottom of rnd 9, pull through to front allowing end to catch in stuffing, insert needle back through center bottom of rnd 2 on muzzle, tighten slightly to shape. Secure.

Note:Sew pieces to thick center part of bath puff; not to outside edges.

Sew back of Head to 1 end of bath puff with hanging lp at center top.

Flatten top of each Leg so toe is pointing forward. Tack top of each Front Leg to each front bottom corner of bath puff and top of each Back Leg to each back bottom corner as shown.

Sew first rnd of Tail to top of bath puff centered between Back Legs.

CHAPTER 2

Duck

Make 2.

Row 1: With yellow, ch 17, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn. (16 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across leaving last st unworked, turn. (15 sc)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc dec(see StitchGuide.com) in first 2 sts, sc in each st across, turn. (14 sc)

Rows 4–9: Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately, ending with 8 sc in last row. At end of last row, do not turn.

Row 10: Ch 1, insert hook in end of first row, yo, draw lp through, [insert hook in end of next row, yo, draw lp through] 8 times, yo, draw through all 10 lps on hook, ch 1. Fasten off.


Finishing

For eyes, with black, embroider 2 French knots(see illustration) ½ inch apart above Beak as shown in photo.

With black, using straight stitch(see illustration), embroider mouth on each side of Beak as shown.

For top knot, cut 3 strands of yellow each 4 inches long. Holding all 3 strands tog, fold in half, insert hook in top center st of rnd 10, draw fold through, draw all loose ends through fold, tighten. Brush lightly to separate strands. Trim.

Note: Sew pieces to thick center part of bath puff, not to outside edges.

Sew bottom of Head to top of bath puff in front of hanging lp.

Sew gathered end of each Wing to top of bath puff behind Head. Sew Feet to bottom of bath puff.

CHAPTER 3

Pig

With black, using backstitch(see illustration), embroider mouth between rnds 7 and 8 as shown.

Note: Sew pieces to thick center part of bath puff, not to outside edges.

Flatten Ears. Sew first rnd of each Ear 1 inch apart to top of Head over rnd 12.

Sew back of Head to 1 end of bath puff with hanging lp at center top. Sew Tail to opposite end of bath puff.
