Sinopsis

(Not available in US) Technology continues to remake the economy. In the next decade, we will reach a point of disposable computing, where any item in commerce can send and receive data throughout its lifetime. The impact of advances like these will be nothing less than the transformation of industry, a force as disruptive as James Watt's steam engine in the 18th century. All managers must be ready. This book demonstrates, through both winning and losing case studies, how to develop and nurture a "strategy portfolio" and how to navigate through a maze of internal and external obstacles. Much like a diversified financial portfolio, this approach teaches you how to hedge your bets behind a wide variety of new business ventures or strategies. Downes's new message will lead to increased savings for companies across the board, from distribution, to marketing, to manufacturing costs.
