JEROME B. ROBINSON was Gun Dog editor of Sports Afield magazine for more than twenty years and now writes the gun dog column for Field & Stream. He is the author of Hunt Closel, Training the Hunting Retriever, In the Turkey Woods, and The Field & Stream Guide to Deer Hunting. Robinson lives in the New Hampshire grouse woods with his wife, Sherrill, a photographer, and their bird dogs.
