"This is a perfect little book for summer. Butler begins with a simple history of trees and human interaction with them. He then goes on to give instructions for growing trees from seed and seedlings, protecting trees after planting, keeping trees healthy, and even for growing bonsai trees. He includes fact-filled, two-page descriptions of several dozen tree species. Interspersed throughout are suggested tree ceremony formats for every event from new babies to memorials. Butler's love of trees is inspiring. The knowledge about trees he is passing on in this book makes it a resource which can be used ongoing to help heal our planet and ourselves."
