His novels published during his lifetime include <i>The House Behind the Cedars</i>, <i>The Marrow of Tradition</i>, and <i>The Colonel's Dream.</i> His work also includes<i> </i>the posthumously published novels <i>A Business Career </i>and <i>Evelyn's Husband</i>,<i> </i>both published by University Press of Mississippi.
