This book introduces the concept of information sharing as an area of cognitive science, defining it as the process by which speakers depend on "given" information to convey "new" information - an idea crucial to language engineering. Kees van Deemter is a Principal Research Fellow at the Information Technology Research Institute at the, University of Brighton. Rodger Kibble is a lecturer in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
