This book addresses national security strategy: what it is, what its objectives are, what problems it seeks to solve or at least manage, and what kinds of influences constrain and create opportunities for developing and implementing strategies. The authors, who have spent years teaching the subject at the war colleges, explain the process simply, concisely, and thoroughly. They pay special attention to the threats, interests, and risks associated with terrorism and other forms of asymmetrical warfare that are the hallmark of the modern era.

Acerca del autor
Donald M. Snow, Ph.D., is professor of political science at the University of Alabama. He is the author, coauthor, or editor of thirty-two books on U.S. foreign and national security policy and international relations. He lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Col. Dennis M. Drew, Usaf (Ret.), is a professor of military strategy at the Air University's School of Advanced Air and Space Studies. He is the author, coauthor, or editor of eleven books and book chapters. He lives in Montgomery, Alabama.
