Hammen, PhD, is Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is also Chair of the clinical psychology area and Director of Clinical Training at UCLA, and is affiliated with the Mood Disorders Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. Dr. Hammen is a clinical researcher specializing in mood disorders, with an emphasis on stress, family factors, and individual vulnerability factors predicting depression in adults and adolescents, and the course of disorder in adults with bipolar illness. Her research has been supported by the William T. Grant Foundation and the National Institute of Mental Health.
