Sinopsis

The first book of its kind, offerring an inside view of theatre today from the literary manager's point of view.
Behind the scenes of many significant U.S. productions today, is the newest member of the creative team—the "dramaturg." Now, for the first time, four of America's finest dramaturgs, under the editorial direction of a fifth, detail their efforts in revealing diary form, offering comprehensive histories of the development of four major productions by outstanding not-for-profit theatres, exploring the dramaturgical, directorial, design, acting and administrative aspects of mounting contemporary and classic plays.
