A longtime resident of a street, called ASH GROVE, that's in a coal-mining village in South Wales, shares reminiscences concerning his, sometimes, very friendly neighbors. There are 2 novellas added - one about the coming apocalypse in which the last 600 people left on earth have to come up with an innovative way to keep from starving when their supposedly lifetime supplies runs out due to incompetence and the second one is how a small town finds itself free of crime and perversion and drunkenness after being 'blessed' with a down-to- earth method of accommodating lust and unseemly urges and, by doing so, obviating anti-social behavior.

Roy Garde lives in north east New Jersey and this is his fifth novel. He has also written 140-odd Short Stories and 30-odd novellas. He tells us that because good sex has been, and is, a very important part of his life not giving his characters the same thing - that is, by stopping at the bedroom door - would be "both ludicrous and - perhaps you know what I mean when I say - even cruel."
