Stacker works graveyards at the Megamarket on the edge of town. Disillusioned and disenfranchised by the modern age, he nullifies his perpetual existential crisis with a menu of drink and drugs and misbehaviour. A chance meeting leads him into the orbit of Colby Stein, the charismatic leader of a group who call themselves the Consequence Men. Stein's philosophy is that the fear of consequence stops people acting in an authentic way. As the spiral of nihilism and violence escalates, Stacker comes to realise that from some consequences there is no escape.

Stuart Webb was born in Cambridge and soon realised that he was cool enough to wear sunglasses indoors. After much chaos and mayhem he struck out for the east coast to dedicate himself to writing fiction and misbehaving. In between hurling Dan Brown books off the pier and selling seashells on the black market he wrote his debut novel, the very one which you are about to purchase. He likes old records, vintage socks, red trousers and leather jackets. His influences are Jack Kerouac, Chuck Palahniuk, Bret Easton Ellis, Albert Camus and good looking barmaids.
