Rhonida A. Carter, Bestselling author of My Pearls Are Rare: a Collection of Poems Spanning From Brokenheartedness to Breakthrough and CEO of Beauty, Wellness and the Arts is a natural hair and fashion model who empowers young women to own their innate elegance and purpose via her mentoring and coaching. Born in Agana, Guam and raised in a military family, Carter is well traveled and disciplined. At age 12, Carter held the 3 Time TaeKwonDo Junior Olympic Title as a red belt in San Diego, California. After relocating to Houston, Carter’s passions evolved to singing, poetry, dance, NJROTC, and track and field, ultimately resulting in a full athletic scholarship to Texas A&M University in Kingsville; an athlete and artist at heart. As a collegiate athlete, Carter’s life and health drastically shifted due to multiple health complications. Diagnosed with a rare form of Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP), a life changing heart condition, Carter discovered new depths of strength and determination. MVP created a unique opportunity to share and teach others how to face adversity and overcome regardless of self image issues, diagnosis or limitations! Carter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. With the belief “my walk and life are my testimony,” Carter is a licensed minister and Certified Christian Counselor residing in Houston, TX.
