This research was undertaken cooperatively by the National Association of Marble Dealers and the Bureau of Standards, and has for its object the solution of certain practical problems which are occasionally encountered in the installation and care of interior marble. While the greatest part of the program was concerned with the action of various types of cleaning preparations on different marbles and methods of removing accidental stains, considerable attention has also been given to the following problems.
