This book discusses IPAD and desktop computer forensics and some of the tools that are used in order to identify, preserve, analyze, and report on digital evidence. It also discusses some of the academics such as language arts, mathematics, and science that should be encouraged since middle school so that future computer examiners will have an easier time with critical thinking, analysis, and report writing. This book also discusses some thoughts about the subject from students. Building a digital forensic resume is also explored. Some technical topics such as MAC addressing, forensic imaging, IP Spoofing, reverse look ups, GPS Metadata, write blockers, and examination machines are touched up. Some paperwork and procedural items such as chain of custody, test plan, and the Frye Test are also discussed. The book is written in any easy to understand language that has something of interest for everyone.

Acerca del autor

Dr. Eamon Doherty is the Cybercrime Training Lab Director as well as a professor in Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). Dr. Doherty earned a Certificate in PDA Forensics as well as a Certificate in Computer Security and Forensic Administration. He has recently written a book entitled, "Tales of Cybercrime and Other Cyber Tales ". Dr. Doherty has also written a textbook for CRC Press entitled, “Digital Forensics For Handheld Devices.” He created three 1/2 day classes for law enforcement officers and security practitioners and published a variety of those class materials made during a Department of Justice grant. These classes are "PDA Forensics", "Cell Phone Forensics", and "Introduction Electronic Eavesdropping Device and Wiretap Detection." Most recently he has created a continuing education class on GPS Navigation Device Forensics. Dr. Doherty has also developed 3 graduate online courses for the National Guard Bureau and the university through a federal grant leading to a Certificate in Computer Security and Forensic Administration. The classes Computer Security Administration, Computer Seizure and Examination, Current Issues in Cybercrime, are available online to both National Guard personnel as well as other FDU students. , The High Tech Crime Investigative Association (HTCIA), American Society of Industrial Security International (ASIS), and is a Certified Computer Examiner (CCE).
