Sinopsis

Over the past two decades, the emergence of Internet-based technologies and its adoption by the educational institutions led to needing of education technology based teaching skills and the effectiveness of such teaching practices. One principal aim of this book is to help those with day to day responsibilities of teaching students and conducting research in a technology-enhanced learning (TEL) environment.This book aims to present the research work carried out in TEL and the problem-based learning (PBL) environment in higher education. It is hoped that teachers and research students using this book will gain familiarity with and enthusiasm for the TEL and PBL environments, and confidence to carry out their research in the field.What this book coversChapter 1, the research article emphasised the need for continued improvement of the technology-enhanced teaching and learning skills of the academic staff to enhance the student learning experience.Chapter 2, the research article implies the need of using concept mapping tool to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching practices on the students learning experience. It also suggests considering students learning styles in the learning activity design and to provide support in improving the facilitation skills of academic staff in the PBL environment.Chapter 3, the research article implies the need to create online activities based on the students’ learning styles to encourage active participation, to provide rich student-tutor interactions for prompt feedback on the students’ performance and hold workshops to improve the facilitation skills of the academic staff in the PBL environment.Chapter 4, the research article implies the need to provide support to tutors in carrying out PBL and in encouraging the use of tools like 3E-Framework that help academic staff to incorporate technology into learning and teaching meaningfully.Chapter 5, the research article implies the need to encourage academic staff to get familiar with the effective learning strategies, students learning styles and how to assess an assessment plan with graduate attributes model
