Sinopsis

Pan Tadeusz is an epic poem by the Polish-Lithuanian poet, writer and philosopher Adam Mickiewicz. The book was first published in June 1834 in Paris, and is considered by many to be the last great epic poem in European literature. The story takes place over the course of five days in 1811 and one day in 1812 at a point in Polish history, when Poland-Lithuania had already been divided between Russia, Prussia, and Austria and disappeared from the political map of Europe.

Acerca del autor

Adam Mickiewicz (1798-1855) was a Polish poet, writer, and political thinker, widely regarded as one of the leading figures of Romantic literature in Europe. His work is closely associated with themes of national identity, cultural memory, and the political history of Poland and Lithuania during a period of partition and displacement.Pan Tadeusz, first published in 1834, is considered his most important work and is often described as Poland's national epic. Written in verse, it reflects both the literary traditions of epic poetry and the historical experience of a society undergoing profound change.
