In Assalamu 'Alykum textbook part one, the learners learn to: • Master Arabic alphabet; letters and sounds, spoken and written. • Distinguish between approximate sounds. • Distinguish the shapes of letters in the beginning, the middle, and the end of words in reading, and writing. • Link between mental images of initial objects available at home and the classroom and their written drawings. • Introduce oneself to others in the situations of greetings, introduction, and nationality. • Exercise numbers from one to hundred. • Acquire basic tangible vocabulary around the student at home, in the classroom, and in the grocery. • Master individual pronouns (I, you masculine, you feminine, he, she) separated, and connected, and first prepositions (from, in, to, on, under). • Distinguish between male, and female nouns using “Ta Marboota”. • Exercise “al” shamsia, and “al” qamariah. • Realize cultural clues of Arabic culture in the conversational situations presented in the book. • Acquire learning strategies such as analysis of words into letters, putting letters together to form words, making flash cards of vocabulary learnt using Arabic and English, and memorizing and regular revision of new vocabulary. . This book is the full syllabus of Beginner-Novice level of the MSA 9-level program taught at YIAL.

Acerca del autor

Mr. Jameel Al Bazili, born in Yemen, 1976, and a graduate from Sana'a university with a BE of English in 1998. He had started his career teaching English in a public secondary schools in Sana'a. In 2000, he started teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers from different countries who came to Sana’a to study Arabic. And soon he excelled in his job and was appointed in 2001 the manger of Center for Arabic Language and Eastern Studies, a branch of University of Science and Technology, Sana'a, Yemen. Then, in 2006, he formed a team of Arabic teachers and devoted themselves to teaching Arabic and developing teaching textbooks to this purpose. In 2007, the team started their private institution "Yemen Institute for Arabic Language" known as YIAL. The institute flourished quickly, and developed several Arabic programs including: Modern Standard Arabic, Yemeni Arabic program, Media Arabic Program, Advanced Arabic courses program, and GPA Arabic program. In 2008, YIAL started its online program to teach Arabic for people worldwide. Fortunately, the program has been increasing rapidly as well as the teachers’ experience. In 2010, Jameel completed his MA from Open University Malaysia which contributed very much to YIAL and influenced YIAL staff think globally. Now, beside their specialization in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, Jameel Al Bazili, with YIAL team are offering training courses to organizations and schools that are offering the same job either in Yemen or abroad.
