The book is about a boy who grows up amongst trees that can talk. The trees have stood still and watched a lot of things happen around them in the world. The book takes different topics and tells the boy the stories of world events from their perspective. The trees are also form a network amongst them and can act as the need arises. Humans are just not smart enough to understand what the trees are doing. They think since the trees don't move, they are without thought, emotions, voice, or communication. This is about a little boy's journey of understanding things from the eyes of the trees.
Biografía del autor
This book is the imagination of an eight-year-old boy who would take road trips and wonder why humans always thought trees could not speak. Maurya lives in Chicago, USA. As his parents had a “no screen time during long drives” rule, he would stare outside the window and watch all the trees that they drove by. One winter break, he took his new computer and started typing. His parents discovered that he was writing down his story. The stories were about the trees that could talk in any language and a boy who could understand them. Maurya says he knows the trees talk, but humans are not smart enough to understand their language. He wanted to imagine what trees would say to each other and to him if he could understand. The book is Maurya's imagination of the trees that talk.
